MALMÖ AREA

MALMÖ - CLOSE TO THE CONTINENT

Malmö is Sweden's third largest city, and the focus here is shopping, culture, sports and gastronomy. The proximity to two international airports makes it easy for both Swedish and international guests to travel to Malmö.

You can visit Malmöhus Castle, the oldest preserved renaissance castle in the Nordic countries. The S: t Petri Church, the oldest building in Malmö dating back to the 12th century, is also open to the public.

If you are into food and drink, the cozy area of Lilla Torg right in the city center is the place to be with its many restaurants and bars.  The Turning Torso building in the western part of the harbor is another attraction with its 190 meters and 90-degree twist from base to top, well worth a closer look.

Malmö has 15 beautiful parks which really make the city come alive - just sit down and take in the lovely surroundings. The garden around Malmöhus Castle is a great source of inspiration, it is open all year round and consists of several smaller gardens in different styles focusing on sustainability.

The Swedish / Danish TV series 'The Bridge' is filmed in Malmö and on the Öresund Bridge, and during your visit you could take a guided tour of the filming locations. This is a truly exciting way to discover the city!

Another location not to miss is Skanör Falsterbo and its long sandy beaches, surrounded by the sea in the south east corner of Skåne. It is well worth a visit with its unique flora and fauna, especially the rich bird life.
